To celebrate over 20 years of travelling in Ecuador – a marvellous country, full of culture, energy, history and creativity – Giuliana Longo has presented two Leporelli that, differing in the two specificities of Panama Hats, describe their diversity through images. The Leporelli are hand-made using a craft technique typical of 17th century Venice.
Leporello 1, dedicated to Cuenca and its Andean people, is already in its second edition.
Leporello 2, is based on a visit to the town of Montecristi, in the north-west of the country, and is an expression of infinite admiration for the magical craftsmanship of the artists and artisans of Manabí.
The Friends of Venezia Viva have contributed to the realisation of this special form of Homage to Panama Hats, with their Art and their Knowledge.
